Installation Project Solar Cell for Cafe
12 kW, Bang Krachao, Samut Prakan
Update on the 12 kW solar cell installation project at a cafe and restaurant in Bang Krachao, Samut Prakan. Utilizing a Microinverter system to solve tree shading issues, helping reduce electricity bills by over 88,000 THB/year.
(Total panel output 13.92 kWp)
Microinverter HM-1500 (6 Units)
(≈ 88,557.93 THB/year)
It's important to note that kWp represents theoretical peak output, not actual production. In real-world operation, the actual power generated can vary significantly due to numerous factors such as: Weather conditions (e.g., cloudy, rainy), Higher panel temperature, Panel orientation and tilt, Partial shading, Panel cleanliness, Time of day.
Solar Cell Installation Project: 12 kW Cafe in Bang Krachao, Samut Prakan
Update on a solar energy system installation project for a restaurant and cafe business. In this project, the PUMA SUNERGY team was trusted to conduct an on-site assessment and install a 12 kW solar cell system for a cafe located in Bang Krachao, Samut Prakan Province.
The cafe business is one of the enterprises with very high hidden electricity costs during the daytime—whether from large espresso machines, bakery display refrigerators, or air conditioning systems that must remain on to accommodate customers all day. Transforming the roof space into a power generation source is therefore the most clearly effective method to reduce fixed costs.
Solving Roof Shading Problems with the Microinverter HM-1500 System
Because the location is in the Bang Krachao area, which is surrounded by nature and tall trees, some parts of the roof space may have tree shadows cast over them during certain times of the day. Our engineering team therefore decided to select equipment that specifically addresses this limitation:
- 580W Solar Panels (24 Panels):Achieves a total output of up to 13.92 kWp, extracting maximum sunlight efficiency.
- Inverter Model HM-1500 (6 Units):Utilizing Microinverter technology that isolates panel operations independently. This means that when tree shadows or clouds cover a particular panel, the solar panels in other areas receiving full sunlight will still continue to generate electricity at 100% without dragging down the efficiency of the entire system (whereas with a typical string system, the power would drop entirely). Additionally, it offers very high safety for the building structure due to the low DC voltage on the roof.
How Much Can a 12 kW Cafe Solar Cell Installation Save on Electricity Bills?
This project can generate an average of approximately 1,570 units (kWh) of electricity per month for use in the shop, which directly impacts the shop's net profit:
- Reduce monthly electricity costs: Saves approximately 7,379.83 THB
- Reduce annual electricity costs: Saves up to 88,557.93 THB
With this highly efficient daytime electricity usage proportion, the payback period for this project will be only about 3.5 years. After that, it represents profit from electricity savings that will enhance business liquidity for over 20 years.
Break-even Point (ROI) Estimation Graph for 12 kW Project
Estimated Break-even Point based on projected savings of ≈ 88,557.93 THB/year
